F1 Pit Stop Challenge
How long does it take to change a tyre in Formula 1? Based on the current world record, the fastest tyre change to date took just 1.80 seconds. How are F1 tyres changed so quickly? A crew of nearly 20 members work in highly practiced, synchronized movements. Mechanics are assigned to each tyre, to operate the tyre gun, to remove the old tyre, and another to place a new tyre. There are also crew members operating jacks, stabilizing the car, and making other necessary adjustments. Then there are reserve crew members. There is also a reserve tyre gun assigned to every tyre, just in case the first one fails.
Take on the F1 tyre change challenge at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and set your own Formula 1 tyre change record.
