All habitats at SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi provide the animals in our care with an enriching environment where they can thrive. Thanks to advanced technology, we can simulate the water currents, wave movements, temperature and lighting conditions of the animals’ natural environments. An Advanced Animal Lighting System (AALS) simulates the natural sun by recreating night, day, and seasonal light cycles precisely like those found in the animals natural environments.

While you will encounter tropical temperatures in some realms, such as Tropical Ocean, you will encounter a colder climate in our Polar realms Arctic and Antarctica. It is advised to dress in layers or bring a jacket to adapt to the different temperatures throughout the Park. Climate appropriate apparel is also available for purchase in the SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi retail stores.

The Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center’s Education program, provided in collaboration with SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, aims to conduct educational workshops and lectures as well as provide a dedicated curriculum at the center to familiarize the young generation with marine sciences and marine wildlife. The Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center also hosts special events such as seminars and science talks covering a wide range of topics related to marine sciences, with local and top international marine scientists. icon The center’s Research team conducts fundamental and applied studies focusing on the marine ecology of the Gulf covering topics such as marine biodiversity, ecosystem resilience, sensitive wildlife conservation, critical habitats restoration, fisheries, pollution, and wildlife health. The Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center also carries out applied research studies for marine ecosystem restoration with aquaculture-based projects including fish breeding, seagrass cultivation, coral reproduction as well as field projects focusing on critical habitats of Abu Dhabi waters (seagrass, mangroves, oyster beds, coral reefs). The center will also launch a project on seagrass, which is one the most important marine habitats of the Gulf. The aim of this project is to develop seagrass cultivation methodologies that would allow the UAE to develop large-scale restoration projects for this critical ecosystem.
The Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center’s aim is to become a leader in the local marine scientific community by contributing and participating in marine science research and conservation efforts in the UAE.
